Makeup Products I Love!

Hello, my name is Alyssa and I am a makeup addict. Yes, I admit to it, I love makeup. I always have. I even went through a phase in middle school where my main source of entertainment was watching Bethany Mota’s YouTube videos for hours on end. I was that girl. Nevertheless, I am thankful because now I actually know how to do my makeup without looking like a barbie doll or a clown.

Today, I thought I would clue you in on some of my favorite makeup items I love! There are drugstore and high-end, so a nice range for everyone.

Under-Eye Concealer: Benefit Cosmetics Erase Paste– shade light. This stuff is my shit. I’m in high school, so I get little to no sleep at night. Which means dark circles. And so far, this is the only product I’ve found that actually keeps them covered all day. If you have dark purple-y under eye circles, use this!

Mascara: Too Faced Better Than Sex-black. I love this mascara. Before I purchased it, I read a ton of reviews that said it was so good, and over time it just got better and better. I was convinced to get it. When I first put it on, I was disappointed. It was really liquidy, and clumped up my lashes. I googled what had happened, and everything I read said to let it dry out a bit, and it will work a lot better. So I stuck with it, and now, 3 months later, I’m in love. After the formula is a little dryer, the clumps disappear and it glides on. I get complements all the time on the volume and length it gives me. In my opinion, get this, but leave it open for a night or two and let it dry a little.

Lipstick: Maybelline Color Sensational Lipsticks-matte divine wine, shine-red. If I’m going to be honest, I just started wearing lipstick this fall. But I love it. These in particular are great. They both have great color payoff and don’t fade very fast. The purply on is matte and the red is shiny. Not to mention they’re so cheap!

Shawn Mendes Concert!

He looked at me 12343214985790 times. Swear.

Hey guys! I’m here a day late, as promised. Yet again, I’m really sorry about that, but hopefully this post makes up for it!

So I SAW SHAWN MENDES! He was so good live, and I’m so glad I got the opportunity to see him! I thought I would just describe the concert, and the day leading up to it.

So I got to the venue at 2:30 to get my seat. The concert started at 7:30. I know what you’re thinking, “Why did she get to the concert FIVE hours early?” Well, it was a free concert, so everyone at my high school, and every high school in a 50 mile radius was coming, and I wanted to be in the front! (I was) My friend and I parked ourselves right at the front of the barricade, and got GREAT seats! It was hot, and it was tiring, but it was worth it.

We waited around for a while, and right at 5:00 a lot of people started showing up. It got pretty crowded. It was so hot, and there were so many people that Shawn’s bodyguard and the police started throwing water bottles into the crowd. People started scrambling around like madmen for them.

Concert time! By 7:30 we were all tired and ready for the concert. When Shawn came on stage, I swear an eardrum busted. I was right in the front, so I had a clear view of him, and it was great. He sang about 8 songs, including a cover of a M&M song and Ed Sheeran (obviously) and did a mix of Strings and Thrift Shopping by Macklemore. All in all the concert was magical, and so was Shawn. I’m so happy I got to see one of my favorite singers live!

TV Show Review: iZombie (SPOILERS)

I don’t know about you, but I LOVE watching tv shows. Whenever I have free time, I turn oh so cliche, teenage girl and binge watch netflix. Recently I’ve been watching iZombie, a show about a med student named Liv turned zombie. Now usually I wouldn’t be into the whole EAT BRAINS thing but this show is the right amount of drama and gore.

iZombie -- Image Number: ZMB01_KH_Liv_0254 -- Pictured: Rose McIver as Olivia "Liv" Moore -- Photo: Kharen Hill /The CW -- © 2015 The CW Network, LLC. All rights reserved.

The first season follows Liv Moore’s first year as a zombie. We see her relationships, friendships, and troubles as a zombie. She eventually gets a job at the ME’s office (morgue), which is where she gets her brains. Her boss Ravi eventually finds out she is a zombie, and decides to do some research. From then on she realizes she wants to get out of her “funk” and start to live her life. She also starts getting visions of memories from the victims she eats.

Throughout the first few episodes, we watch Liv team up with a police officer named Clive as a “psychic” to help solve crimes with the visions from the brain’s of the victims she eats. She also meets another zombie named Blaine, who she figures out turned her. It’s all really great.

I’m not going to reveal anymore, but WATCH IT. It’s great. I recommend it to everyone 13+.

Best wishes! I’ll see you guys next Wednesday.

Love, Alyssa

Positivity Playlist! +Staying Positive Discussion

Hey everyone! Before I get into the post I just wanted to say I have a schedule for posts now! Every Sunday and Wednesday I’ll have a new one! I’m going to be doing OOTD’s, food-spiration, music playlists, outfit ideas, etc., so stay tuned! Anyways, back to the normal post!

I don’t know about you, but I love feeling positive and confident. It’s one of the best feelings in the world. And a big factor of how I stay positive is music. It can make or break my mood any day. Today I’ve compiled a Spotify playlist of a ton of songs that make me feel really positive and happy! Below you’ll see everything from Taylor Swift to Bruno Mars to Michael Franti and Spearhead (my fave artists in the playlist, personally).

While you’re listening to such happy music, lets take a second to talk about confidence and positivity. As a teenager growing up in the age of social media and celebrities, I know exactly how it feels to have low self-esteem and body confidence. Everywhere you look there is someone else prettier and smarter than you. No matter how hard you try, no one is ever going to be perfect. And that’s the good thing! Everyone around you, even those who are prettier and smarter, are just as insecure as you. And most likely, they’re jealous of a trait you have they don’t! Embrace your differences from others, and love yourself! You are beautiful just the way you are.

See you on Sunday!

Alyssa

OOTD: Fall Comfort

DSC_0104

Hi! My name’s Alyssa, and I’ve decided to start a blog! For my first post, I’m doing an OOTD inspired by the cool weather we’re having here in the south right now. (Really rare this time of year, so I’m taking advantage of it)

DSC_0099

Above I paired a green cozy sweater with the letters LA on it from H&M with a grey army inspired jacket from Forever 21. I love how the grey jacket is comfortable and keeps me warm, plus it makes the green in the sweater POP!

The shoes I decided to wear are my Adidas original Superstars. These things are my babies, and I wear them at least three times a week. You can also see where I cuffed my jeans at my ankles.

The jeans I paired with this look are the brand Suede, and I picked them up at a local department store. LOVE the ripped knees, and this style of jeans is super popular!

Thanks for reading my blog! I can’t wait to see where it takes me!
